Extended Sauna Experience

A longer experience for larger groups, combining the traditional smoke sauna with a wood-heated courtyard sauna. Move between the two saunas, cool down outdoors and enjoy an unhurried introduction to Finnish sauna culture.

Full Sauna Journey

The complete Finnish sauna journey, combining a smoke sauna, wood-heated courtyard sauna and traditional seaside sauna. Take your time moving between heat, rest and cooling down while enjoying the peaceful coastal surroundings.

This is a private sauna experience, reserved exclusively for your group.

The sauna is located less than 2 km from Aurora Sea Resort, in a peaceful seaside setting.

Return transportation from Aurora Sea Resort is included.

Please be at the Aurora Sea Resort lobby 10 minutes before the confirmed departure time.

The experience is hosted by a dedicated sauna guide and includes an introduction to authentic Finnish sauna traditions and a traditional Finnish washing ritual.

Towels, bathrobes, felt slippers and traditional sauna seat covers are provided. Drinking water, locally made berry juice and traditional Finnish berry pie are also included.

Soap, shampoo and conditioner are available at the sauna.

In Finland, sauna is traditionally enjoyed without swimwear, but wearing a swimsuit is completely welcome. As the experience is private, arrangements can be adapted to your group's preferences.

Between sauna sessions, you can relax indoors or cool down outside in the crisp winter air. When weather and ice conditions allow, the frozen sea may also become part of the experience.

The experience is available December–April, Tuesday–Saturday, upon request. Guiding is available in Finnish and English.

Please note that the experience is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

What is a Finnish smoke sauna?

A smoke sauna is one of the oldest forms of Finnish sauna. Unlike a conventional sauna, it has no chimney while heating. The sauna is carefully heated for several hours before guests enter, creating a distinctive soft heat, atmosphere and traditional sauna experience.

Is the Smoke Sauna Ritual a private experience?

Yes. All three Smoke Sauna Ritual options are reserved exclusively for your own group and are hosted by a dedicated sauna guide.

What are the three Smoke Sauna Ritual options?

You can choose between the 2-hour Smoke Sauna Ritual for 1–6 guests with one traditional smoke sauna, the 3-hour Extended Sauna Experience for 1–8 guests with two traditional saunas, or the 5-hour Full Sauna Journey for 1–8 guests with three traditional wood-heated saunas.

What is included in every sauna experience?

All options include a dedicated sauna guide, traditional Finnish washing ritual, towels, bathrobes, felt slippers, sauna seat covers, access to Haapa Studio, drinking water, locally made berry juice and traditional Finnish berry pie.

What is the traditional Finnish washing ritual?

Each guest receives a personal bucket of warm washing water and uses a basin and ladle to wash in the traditional Finnish way. Soap, shampoo and conditioner are also available.

Do I need to wear a swimsuit?

No. Finnish sauna is traditionally enjoyed without swimwear, especially in private groups, but wearing a swimsuit is completely welcome. As the experience is private, arrangements can be adapted to your group's preferences.

Can we go into the frozen sea?

When weather and ice conditions allow, the frozen sea may become part of the experience. Participation depends on local conditions and safety considerations.

Is transportation from Aurora Sea Resort included?

Yes. Return transportation between Aurora Sea Resort and the sauna location is included.
